I devote this section to the magical and mysterious items I might encounter in my studies.

Hex EssenceEssences

Strange, some of these scrolls imply that basic items such as cobblestone are not discrete forms, but are instead amalgamations of even baser Essences.

I wonder if I can exploit this...

I've devised a way to store a large quantity of any one Essence.
To store an Essence in a jar, I can simply interact while holding a matching essence.
Interacting again within a short timeframe deposits every matching essence in my inventory.
Punching the jar with an empty hand or essence extracts one of the contained essences into my hand, and crouching as I do so extracts a full stack.

Hex EssenceEssence Spells

I have discovered a number of patterns relating to Essence, the fundamental components of items.

Extraction (entity →)

Your browser does not support visualizing patterns. Pattern code: qqqqwaadw

Extracts the essence from a dropped item. Cost varies depending on target item.

Combination ([vec], recipe, vec →)

Your browser does not support visualizing patterns. Pattern code: eeeewddaw

Remove a list of vectors, a recipe iota, and a vector from the stack, then take essences from the jars at the given locations, mix them according to the given recipe, and summon the resulting item at the given location.

Decay (recipe → [[itemtype, num]])

Your browser does not support visualizing patterns. Pattern code: wewewewewewdadqdqdqdqdqd

Decays a Recipe iota into a list of lists where the inner lists each contain an item type and a count.
This list of lists represents which essences the recipe needs, and how much of each.

The spells catalogued here are purported to be of legendary difficulty and power. They seem to have been recorded only sparsely (for good reason, the texts claim). It's probably just the ramblings of extinct traditionalists, though -- a pattern's a pattern.

What could possibly go wrong?

Hex EssenceAnalysis

Essence Crafting seems to require a new iota form, called a Recipe iota.
The only way I've found to generate these iotas is Analysis, which I've detailed on the next page.

Analysis (entity → recipe)

Your browser does not support visualizing patterns. Pattern code: aqqqqqwaeaeaeaeaea

Remove an item entity, then add an iota representing the combination recipe for that item to the stack.
Successful analyses tear the item apart.

Mishaps if target does not have a valid combination recipe.
